KCR inaugurates Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project

The Chief Minister of Telangana state K Chandrashkear Rao on Thursday inaugurated the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project by laying the foundation stone at Karvena village of Bhootpur mandal in Mahabubnagar district.

On the occasion of this program CM KCR Said Assuring the project works will roll only after a government job is provided to a member of every displaced family.

KCR said that the project will irrigate 30,000 acres in Nalgonda district, 2.7 lakh acres in Ranga Reddy and seven lakh acres in Mahabubnagar.

The lift irrigation scheme will be utilizing around 90 TMC water from the Srisasilam project. The project pylon witnessed TRS cadres, MPs, Ministers, MLAs and a large number of people participating in the programme.

Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project Details

As per the plans, the government will divert 75 tmcft water from Jurala Project to Koilkonda reservoir. From there, the water will be diverted to Mahbubnagar and Rangareddy and Nalgonda districts.

The Palamuru LI scheme is intended to irrigate 7 lakh acres in Mahbubnagar, 2.75 lakh acres in Rangareddy and 30,000 acres in Nalgonda district.

Besides, the project will supply drinking water to Hyderabad. The government is planning to stabilise around 3.5 lakh acres in these districts which were under tanks.
